            Naschmarkt, Vienna’s famous market is celebrating its 100th birthday! The city will celebrate this special occasion accordingly, inviting to two days of heavy feasting. Apart from trying and tasting your way through the culinary offerings of the market, there will also be acrobatics, readings, belly dancing, theatre, cooking shows, puzzle hunts, a raffle, music and many more things!

            Levin Jam 2016 will be featuring international and local kings of graffiti writing this Saturday at Donaukanal. As well as some fine DJ and live music to go with the urban art performances.

            Wollzeile, Vienna’s oldest shopping street, is having its annual street festival, Remasuri. Starting at 10am this Saturday, all the street’s shops will be open and inviting you to spend an afternoon not only finding precious items to buy, but also in good company. There will also be food and drink stands all over the street that will be closed for cars.

            Plus: three free Fiaker, a Kasperltheater for kids and a raffle that might win you your purchase.

            Recommended if you like: Viennese charm, open doors and people, car-free streets, food stands, great odours spreading all over the quarter, see and be seen, posh people, spending way too much money on things you don’t need

            For the second time this year, Goldenes Quartier (golden quarter), Vienna’s premium and luxury shopping spot, is organizing a picnic right in the middle of the 1st district. Green grass will be rolled out, pillows and blankets will offer comfy space to sit down on, relax, open your picnic baskets (make sure to bring them or get food in one of the adjoining restaurants and bakeries), and hang out with friends and family. 

            Recommended if you like: inner-city picnics, plastic grass, luxury living for a day or two, stealing from other people’s picnic baskets, not moving for a few hours, feasting

            Schelato, the sexy ice cream shop on Lerchenfelderstraße, is lending their Schanigarten to a flea market event this Sunday. There will be racks of old clothes by a bunch of friends who found their cupboards spilling over and want to find new homes for their unwanted stuff. And after shopping, you can feast on tasty ice creations, fresh drinks and live music!

            If you get the chance to get out of the city for a bit this weekend, stop by at Biohof Adamah – the organic farm supplying lots of Viennese people with fresh vegetables, fruits and meat. It’s their annual two-day summer party, offering their products for sale, musical entertainment, information stands, tours through their gardens, and the chance to taste some delicious organic dishes and drinks.

            Plus: There will be extra trains and busses (change to trains at Hauptbahnhof, Simmering, Stadlau or Hausfeldstraße) stopping at Glinzendorf for the occasion, so no need to bring a car!

            Recommended if you like: organic farms, rural life, escaping the city for a while, food tastings, eating too much, rolling around in some hay

            Vienna Summerbreak Festival 2016 will have you dancing like a maniac all Sunday long. Five different techno and house DJ crews will be on the decks, starting at 11am. There will also be a chance to bronze your skin some more before autumn’s back, sip on some fresh summer drinks and enjoy the company of music loving people.

            Volksstimmefest is one of Vienna's oldest festivals, offering cultural and culinary tidbits in the beautiful Prater.
            The sounds (and spirit) of folk/singer-songwriter music will spread itself out over the Jesuitenwiese of the Prater park on the first weekend of September. And it will be boasting some big name local musicians, like the following:
