The thing with remains of the Nazi era is a tricky one. On the one hand, the represent a horror that’s best left behind and put out of sight. On the other hand they act as reminder to never let something like this happen again. This special exhibition at the Haus der Geschichte adresses this very preidcament. Should all those objects go straight to the trash? Is it acceptable to sell them? And what would you do if you found stuff like that in your family’s basement?
