Hear a seriously talented string quartet all the way from NYC
Juilliard String Quartet
When: TUE, January 28, 7:30pm–9:35pm
Where: Musikverein
Entry: TBD
The classical string foursome known as the Juilliard String Quartet were founded in 1946 in NYC. You’ve probably guessed from the photo that the current members aren’t the same ones they started out with, but they know how to produce beautiful sounds from what are essentially pieces of wood with cat gut strung to them. They’ll be performing Mozart’s Streichquartett B-Dur, KV 458, „Jagd-Quartett“, Britten’s Streichquartett Nr. 3, op. 94, Brahms’ Streichquartett a-Moll, op. 51/2 and The Chemical Brothers’ Block Rockin’ Beats*.
*one of these songs may not be performed
Recommended if you like: string quartets, people twanging strings live on stage, listening to the violin, viola and cello in perfect harmony, listening to skilled, highly trained musicians, relaxing events at the start of the week
