Lucy Dacus hails from Richmond, Virginia and writes Indie-Rock both as a solo artist and with her band, boygenius. Add a sprinkle of R.E.M., a smidgen of Jason Isbell, and a (insert some other word for a small amount of) Cat Power and you’re half way there. It’s the kind of music you put on and chill out to on the sofa, while looking at the Hoover which has remained in place for the past month and uttering, “it’s too hot. Maybe tomorrow, Henry.”
