Playbackdolls**Three for Silver

Love to feel melancholy? This double-header of a concert is just the vibe for you

Playbackdolls**Three for Silver

When: SAT, March 21, 8pm–11pm
Where: Das WERK
Entry: TBD, buy a ticket

Playbackdolls describe themselves as ‘Post-Folk for pre-apocalyptic periods’, which seems very timely. Despite this, rather than whining mordibly, their songs are about saying “Yes!” to life, with their German-sung poetry, distorted Tom Waits guitar, accordion and intricate rhythm vibes. Also on the bill are American band Three For Silver, who squeeze the accordion like a long-lost auntie who hasn’t seen her niece in a decade.

Recommended if you like: Americana, Gypsy Jazz and Folk music, Tom Waits, singing like you’ve gargled razorbloades and smoked 1000 cigarettes, melancholy, gigs that feel like the air is full of smoke (despite the smoking ban)
