You can see Deborah Spengl’s complex thoughts in her paintings and artwork hanging on the walls of Gallerie Reinthaler’s vitrines at the moment.
Before you get ahead of yourself, the artist’s work isn’t a homage to the ‘Dogs playing poker’ painting we all know and find comical. In her latest exhibition she reflects on the repercussions of two years of pandemic paired paired with the current situation of war in close proximity and a generally uncertain future. Despite all the sombreness in her pictures, there also is an underlying glimmer of positivity, as such moments can often teach us to appreciate the good things we have even more.
