Self build (the practice of creating an individual home for oneself) is not a new thing, but in the Southern Hemisphere it is experiencing a revival of sorts. What the panel at this discussion will be putting to us, the audience, is how the future of this practise fit into the Viennese model. Is there space for self build in our fair city, and how could that be integrated into a subsidised rental model. It may be on a Friday, but you will probably need your Monday head on you, as – architects tend to use the biggest words and most complicated sentence structures to make a point.
