While Elon Musk tries to persuade people to buy cars that look like they’re from the 1990s, Gartenbaukino is celebrating a film about a rogue vehicle from the 1990s, ‘Speed’. On paper, a film about a bus that can’t drive slower than 50mph might sound a bit dull, but with Keanu Reeves in full hero mode, Sandra Bullock driving and a constant threat of the bus being blown by a surprisingly sinister Dennis Hopper, the film remains one of the most thrilling of its genre to be released in recent decades. This is part of the cinema’s LAZER 90 series, celebrating the best films from the 90s, and a party in the foyer follows the screening.
