Max & Benito – Best Burrito

These guys are loco … and so are their burritos! Recently having opened up another location on Vienna’s shopping street, Mariahilferstraße, there’s no questioning that they’re doing something right. Our visit to the 1st district version, and the original, Carlos plays a main role in the future success of Max & Benito. He’s a pro chef when it comes to tacos, burritos, and the Mexican cuisine, in general. And that’s why owners, Stephan and Markus, flew him in directly from Mexico. The mix of flavours in the burritos here is what it should be. We even have to close our eyes to take in the taste sensation unfolding – with the zesty lime rice, the beautifully smooth texture of the black bean paste, the crunch of the lettuce, the garlicky veggies, the sweetness of the freshly made guacamole, and the hot and tangy salsa. Let us assure the Mexican lovers out there – the salsa is the real deal. The salsa may be a mild-mannered Mexican, but you can also heat things up with Chilango hot sauce.
