When you’re young and making eyes on the dancefloor, it’s hard to imagine anyone being quite as hip in days of yore. Yet some might argue that the artistic and hedonistic days of partying hit their peak in the early 20th century in cafés and clubs such as the Chat Noir in Paris and the Cabaret Fledermaus in Vienna. If in fact, you’re experiencing FOMO from those last two, you can visit replicas of them here, along with other tales of art and nightlife from 1880s to 1960s. You might just start to wonder what exactly your grandparents used to get up to.
