Sperling – Best outdoor dining

About the Schanigarten: right next to the palace/ porcelain factory in the Augarten park (you know, in that building that looks like it’s coming straight out of a Wes Anderson film) is the Sperling – a gorgeous looking cafe and restaurant set in a gorgeous location.

They’ve got two al fresco gardens here – one out the front of the place and one in the charming courtyard. Vast awnings will protect you from the heat on sunny days, and while you’re sitting in the shade, you can enjoy a beautiful view over the park.

About the food: dishes rooted in Austria are on the menu here, sprinkled with international inclusions. And good news for everyone who isn’t into meat – a lot of the food they serve is actually vegetarian/vegan.
