Good old Alfred really didn’t have an easy life. Stricken by various blows of fate, he soon spiraled into depression. In the course of his arts studies he discovered the works of the likes of Klinger, Goya, Munch and similar artists, which would serve as great inspiration. Combined with his own world of experience he created a comprehensive oeuvre, consisting of topics that are (unfortunately) still relevant today. We are talking violence, war, destruction, epidemics and natural disasters. It might not be uplifting, but worth seeing nonetheless.
