Rock out to two Chicago Singer-Songwriters
Bob Nanna & Mark Rose
When: WED, July 17, 7:30pm–10pm
Where: Ateliertheater
Entry: 7€/10€
Bob Nanna and Mark Rose both hail from Chicago and perform the kind of music only Americans can write in which you can hear them smiling while they sing. While trying not to have his name mistaken for a lifeguard crying out to save his grandmother’s life, the former singer sounds like a mix of Foo Fighters, Bob Mould and John Grant. Meanwhile, the latter has all the feels, channelling Semisonic and even The Rembrandts (of ‘Friends’ theme tune fame).
Recommended if you like: soulful harmonies, more guitar noodling than a Fender in a ramen factory, Indie Rock/Pop, musicians that know their shit, Singer/Songwriter music, closing your eyes while dancing like a drugged up hippy
