Brunnenpassage are currently screening the documentary ‘Born in Evin’ which follows filmmaker and actress Maryam Zaree on her quest to find out the violent circumstances surrounding her birth inside Evin Prison in Tehran, one of the most notorious political prisons in the world. After three decades of silence, she embarked on a mission to get to know her own story and find out more about her parents’ past. It’s a film about the inevitability of repression and the need for reappraisal and has been showered with praise from all quarters. Following the film, there will be an interview with Arash T. Riahi (co-producer).
