Last chance to eat a Döner on the U6 subway… for charity obvs
Das letzte Mal Falafel/Döner essen in der U6
When: FRI, August 31, 12am–12am
Where: Josefstadter Strasse U6
Entry: Free, but you might need to buy a Döner
When we have to give examples of why Vienna is number 1, it is events like this that we turn to. While most countries would face change with difficulty (Austria included), there is a section of society here who will always find fun in it somehow. For example, this tongue-in-cheek event at which everybody will be celebrating the last chance to gobble up one of those fragrant Döners on the U6 U-Bahn – yes, somebody has gone through with actually organising this event. So grab some friends and turn up to the station, Josefstadter Strasse, this Friday. If you grab a Döner or Falafel sandwich from the Kebab stand Mangalet, you’ll be also donating to the charity Wiener Tafel (an organisation that collects the excess food from restaurants, stores etc. and gets it into the hands of people who need it). If for no other reason, turn up just so you can say to the grandkids, I WAS THERE, on the last ever Food-Bahn. Lets hope it turns into a Disco-Bahn. Whose got some speakers? On that note, there are a set of rules to keep things orderly – check them out, here.
Recommended if you like: the smell of the U6 in the morning because it reminds you that you are alive, eating on the go, getting hot and sweaty because of the amount of spice on your Döner, impromptu raves (we are not encouraging this, but if it happens we would wiggle our hips), random and a little odd community events
