In this Scottish ‘Shocker’ we follow the unlikely, but slightly plausible, story of a returning expat Scot, Hannay, as he accidentally gets caught up in a murder and conspiracy that could bring the whole of Europe to war. The adventure sees him forced into hiding, forced to run and forced to defend himself against a mysterious German enemy, ‘the Black Stone’, all on the eve of the outbreak of war. And yes, this is based on none other than the cult film and thriller by Alfred Hitchcock, The 39 Steps.
