This one’s for the foodie lovers. Augarten is not just a public Viennese park we really, really do dig, but it will also play host to Austria’s biggest harvest festival this year (celebrating the harvest is a long-practised tradition in Austria). In religious terms, the ‘Erntedankfest’ (harvest festival) shows gratitude to God, thanking the big guy/gal up stairs for the riches of our harvest. And thats true: we do indeed have wonderful harvest in Austria so yalla, go celebrate and feast on it! This will be like a little farmers market at which a bounty of produce and artisanal food products will be up for grabs. A lovely thing to be doing this weekend.
