Immerse yourself (and party hard in) the Sound of Music at the Life Ball

It’s that time again when the Rathaus and the city center get a lot more colourful and charismatic! The flamboyant diva of all of Vienna’s festivals, Life Ball, is back. The AIDS charity event has earned it’s fame for a reason over the past years, and they’re coming back this year bigger and better (so they say). Even if  you can’t score one of those exclusive tickets to the party inside the Rathaus, we do recommend you turn up for the show happening on stage outside (Conchita will be there). Plus, the whole of the Rathaus’ facade will be transformed into Salzburg’s meadows and mountains, with Edelweiss and traditional costumes, as well as colorful butterflies and that other stuff you find in the mountains of Austria. Not to mention, you should get there early to see the outlandish outfits being worn by guests attending as they strut their stuff up the red carpet. The theme this year is ‘A Homage to The Sound of Music,’ which calls . Should make for some very sweet and Austrian looking costumes…or perhaps the opposite…which is more likely knowing this festival. PLUS! The official ‘afterparty’ (even though the main party lasts until 7am the next day) will be happening at Volksgarten. This is more for those that get bored of the main party (which isn’t likely) or for those that couldn’t get in. Find all of the details, here.
