An exciting reading will be happening in the big ol’ library this Monday night which tells the story of a feminist movement that started in a car in a place where women are not allowed to drive – Saudi-Arabia. Manal al-Sharif is one of the most important pioneers in this movement, and she managed to get things going: as of recently, women are allowed to drive a car. Nevertheless, she is continuing her fight for human rights and female empowerment in a place where people are inspired to become radicalists. Al-Sharif will present her book “Losfahren” (original: Daring to Drive) at the Hauptbücherei on Monday.
