Westlicht brings you the works of three remarkable photographers: Lisel Model, Diane Arbus and Nan Goldin. Model was actually born in Vienna (in 1901! The Empire and all…), but kicked off her career in France and later moved to the US, where she eventually became a mentor for young Arbus. They worked together back in the 60s, and are known to this day for challenging visual perspectives and mixing surrealism with documentary photography. The third generation portrayed in this exhibit is that of Goldin, the younger of the three, bringing you the NYC of the 80s. Wow, what a ride. Check them out at Westlicht until March!
