Our beloved Votiv-Kino will be hosting a very special ‘Queerfilmnacht’.
The star of the evening will be the movie, ‘THE SUMMER WITH CARMEN’. This movie is about two friends, Demos and Nikita, who meet at Limanakia Beach, a popular queer hotspot in Athens. Both in their early 30s and aspiring filmmakers, they discuss Nikita’s frustration with being typecast in gay roles and his desire to create a film that reflects his own experiences. Amid the backdrop of men swimming and making out, Nikita pitches an idea for a movie centred on a past summer, focusing on Demos’ emotional reunion with his ex, Panos, and Panos’ adorable dog, Carmen.
