Jump for joy (into the Danube canal) because it’s allowed
Schwimmverein Donaukanal x Kunst Haus Wien
When: THU, July 9–July 30, 4pm–6pm & 6pm–10pm
Where: Kunst Haus Wien. Museum Hundertwasser
Entry: TBA
It’s fine to swim in the Danube canal – trust us. It’s apparently legal, but something just not done very often. And if you don’t, at least trust the ‘Schwimmverein Donaukanal‘. They’re hosting an event to try to revive the once popular past-time. Every other day at the Danube canal will be something to look forward to this July, but don’t just expect people swimming the basic breast- and backstrokes in the canal. This event is organised by an art gallery.
Not only will Kunst Haus Vienna provide lockers and changing cabins on-site, but they will also have a variety of architects, activists, and speakers addressing all kinds of topics, like urban swimming etc. There will even be an ice swimmer doing a talk.
Each day has its own arranged schedule, and if you’re lucky, you’ll join in on the Danube canal tunes, space drinks, and tasty french fries on offer!
Recommended if you like: being spontaneous, dreaming of exotic places and then traveling to them, your beloved rucksack, adventure, extreme sports, international cuisine, stories from afar
