To get you all giggly for this event, we use the organisers own words: ‘In a mysterious place on the hills over Vienna lies a derelict sanatorium where the air is charged with whispers, screams, and sighs.’ The Burning Ball is back for its 5th year this Saturday, and they’ll be holding it in this sanatorium. The idea for this Ball was born, one would assume, in the lurid plains where the the Burning Man festival is held, and what began as a reunion, became a thing. The ball is a chance for Burners – past, present and future – to gather, reconnect, recollect and re–live the principles of the great festival, once again. Even if you haven’t been to the festival, you’re are welcome, of course. Themed to fit the location, an ex–sanatorium, the organisers ask you to be an embodiment of ‘your own chosen folly.’ Shit just got real.
