4 Places in Vienna where ‘Hüttengaudi’ never ends

Do you love to go skiing or snowboarding, or do you prefer to go directly to the après-ski – or as we Austrians like to call it, ‘Hüttengaudi’ – fun where you dance on the table and sing along to good ol’ Austrian classics from Dj Ötzi & Co?

If you belong to the latter group, we’ve got good news for you. You don’t even have to leave Vienna in order to get your healthy portion of post ski partying. We have got 4 places for you where ‘Hüttengaudi’ never seems to end.

Bettel-Alm or Lugeck-Alm is Vienna’s first address to party like there is no tomorrow when you are mentally trapped in the après-ski mood. It promises ‘Alm-feeling’ in the middle of the first district.

Open Tuesday – Saturday, you can get your dose of ‘Hüttengaudi’ almost on the daily. Our tip: Check out their ‘Fancy Tu es! Day’ (do-it day) every Tuesday if you are looking for a reason to get lit on a Tuesday. And who isn’t?

Hinteralm – Hüttengaudi in Vienna

Did you know that you can also find ‘Hüttengaudi’ in the 5th district in a scenic place called ‘Hinteralm’?

Its self-description as being ‘the only bar in Vienna with a rustic, dignified ambience (whatever that means) where you can either end the evening quietly or celebrate with friends until the early hours of the morning’ promises to extend your après-ski weekend and, of course, entices you to have that one (or one too many) Schnapps.

Just from taking a look at the pictures, Leopoldauer Alm looks kind of wild. So if you’re up for some serious ‘Hüttengaudi’ in the midst of Vienna’s 22nd district, we can only say ‘go for it’ and don’t forget to yodel.

Leopoldauer Alm also boasts of itself as being an XXL restaurant offering XXL portions, so if you’ve got the munchies and alpen-lust, then this place might just be waiting for you.

Did you ever want to book a ‘Hütte’ with your friends for New Year’s Eve, but realized too late that they are usually booked out years in advance? If you still want to experience exclusive ‘Hüttenflair’ you can book your very own ‘Hütte’ at Wiener Alm in the prater.

They also come with a three-course menu, all drinks included, so you can experience authentic après-ski flair uhm, or should we just call it ‘getting hammered’? You even get your own ‘Hütten DJ’, who makes sure to play all the necessary bangers to give you the authentic ‘Hüttengaudi’ experience. Yiha!
