Dino’s American Bar – Whisky and cigars

The small, warm-looking bar is a great night haunt for anyone wandering aimlessly through the streets of the first district. While the décor at this veteran cocktail bar looks like it’s straight out of a cheap hotel, the staff behind the bar know their way around cocktails. And somehow the décor fits here with the cigarette smoke clouds, the old soda water dispensers, and the pretzel and nuts served as soon as you take a seat. While space is scarce, waiting, sitting at the bar, or squishing into the crowd is worth it for the large selection of whisk(e)ys, and what is supposedly, the largest selection of bourbons in the country. Dino’s was designed with Ernest Hemingway, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in mind, with the intention of having them as local clientele… if they were alive…and in Vienna, today. And the atmosphere in the bar is usually to be enjoyed with some Jazz music overhead. Most people at Dino’s are enjoying a puff – many from the place’s cigar collection. It seems like a must to smoke in this heavily wooded den.
