This bar named after the drink, Planter’s Punch, is fancy, but rather small at first glance. Big, fat, leather couches, a huge Persian rug and dimmed lighting make it a really cosy, and somehow, sexy place. There are doors lead to somewhat hidden seating and dance Areas, and this is when you realise that the place is bigger than what it first lets on. With their DJ-line up on Fridays and Saturdays, the bar attracts a bit more of a young cosmopolitan crowd craving the sass of the big city.
Now to the whisk(e)ys – Planter’s club offers a selection of 600 Whisk(e)ys, ranging from 9€ to 350€ per glass, so they definitely do have something for every taste and budget. On average 30-40 cigar smokers can be found there at a time, and Planter’s are currently selling 16 different cigars, imported mostly from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The bartenders will be more than happy to help you choose the right cigar to match with your whisk(e)y. If you’re not in the mood for a whisk(e)y or cigar, there’s a conga line of cocktails on the menu!
Good to know: there’s a steak restaurant – the Livingstone – right next to the bar, so you can go all out and fine dine like an aristocrat before moving on to the bar for drinks, afterwards.
