While the Black Lives Matter movement began in America, this week’s anti-racism protest in Vienna made very clear how the message and cause behind the movement’s heightened cry for change is also painfully relevant here.

It’s a huge mistake to think that what sparked the raging BLM protests in recent weeks in America is something belonging exclusively to the US of A. There’s no shortage of reports that reveal Austria’s police force has a serious racism problem.

And this probably had something to do with what led over 50 thousand people to take to the streets in Vienna on Thursday to send a clear message – Black Lives Matter and racism has to stop.
