We Came, We Ate, We Drank… at the veggie-Mediterranean food stand in the heart of Mariahilferstraße, Electro Camel

What’s the menu made of:

Everything green and plant-y, but in a “I want something healthy but still feel fulfilled” kind of way. The menu consists of Pitas, Hummus, Salads and sides, as well as desserts. The menu is not big, but they have something for everyone’s taste.

What you won’t find on their menu is flesh (kind of creepy to say flesh eventhough it’s just a different way to say meat, right?), so this one is for all the veggies and those who are not but like to pretend they are.

The food definitely tastes the way it looks: HEALTHY! And homemade, and that’s not just because they literally make the hummus and all right in front of your face.

The portions might not be the biggest, especially for the price, but they do fill you up nicely (holding back those jokes is HARD ha. We’re funny).

The spicy falafel wrap was our favourite from the main dishes – the falafels were fresh and the sauce tasty. It was not that spicy, so even those of you who get an upsetty tummy after some spice might be able to handle it! The hummus had a mild flavour and went along nicely with the crispy pita. You can add salt to your liking.

Now, what really blew us away was the DESSERTS. They were to DIE for (and smelled heavenly). The Malabi, a mediterranean coconut and almond cream drenched in rose water tasted like what you’d expect a heavenly smelling body wash to taste like. Just…edible. And delicious. And the chocolate bomb was, just like the name says, the BOMB. So much chocolate, so creamy and rich in flavour. We’re still thinking about it to this day.

What did we manage to do while waiting for our food

Not a lot. Because our food was here seconds after we ordered it. Our food was quick, so perfect for all the business people out there who do not have time for anything in their lives and therefore need some comfort food on their way to wherever business people go.

Recommended if you like:

Mediterranean comfort food, fresh ingredients, not feeling completely bloated and worn down after eating, food that is pretty to look at, getting a bit messy with those wraps, wonderful desserts (still not over it), a quick bite on the go that’ll leave you satisfied

How would you describe the place to your Oma:

A food stand that STANDS out in the middle of Mariahilfer with their cute and modern design, serving up some fresh Falafels and more.
