Calienna – house plant stores in Vienna

MON–FRI 11am–7pm
SAT 11am–6pm

calienna.com

Calienna is one hip looking store / cafe that opened up on Neubaugasse in 2020. The store name combines the words ‘California’ and ‘Vienna,’ which just so happens to be the home cities of the shop’s owners. They had a vision to create a new kind of flower store concept in the city’s urban district.

In addition to the wide array of greenery, this urban jungle store also has different coffee table books on its shelves, along with teas and coffees. A hot drink, a good read, and calming plants – just the three things you’ll need for a relaxing moment at home when it’s getting colder outside.

As a complete novice to the world of house plants, it’s understandable if you happen to mistake a cactus for a bonsai tree (well, maybe not that understandable), but never fear! The staff will be happy to inform you about their current stock of plants, and the healing elements they each individually possess. Wait –  something that’s good for the environment and mental well-being? It seems plants are the true superheroes the world needs!

Entering the shop feels like: a friendly oasis far away from the busy city, an indoor jungle with a smell of coffee in the air – so it’s pretty much heaven

Plants you can find there: Yucca rostrata, various Monsteras, Epiphyllums and Pileas, and more!
