We want you to know that we’re giving you 100% independent sneak peeks at these places with a fiercely honest flavour. Nobody paid us to eat here. On this occasion, we thought we’d check out the café, Greisslerei and bar, Adlerhof.

Adlerhof
What’s the menu made of:
According to the Adlerhof menu, the day is divided into two all-important parts – breakfast and dinner
(breakfast served until 4pm). Both menus have vegan options and inventive dishes included.
As for breakfast, you’ll find simple arrangements like an egg with chives open-faced sandwich, while you’ll also spot things a little more dynamic, like truffle-infused egg dishes. Vegans and sweet tooth are presented with options like coconut porridge, while anybody that loves food and exploring its endless variations – you won’t be short of hard decisions when looking in the menu.
While we have no doubt the menu regularly is reinvented, when we were there, there were creative dishes like a golden bream ceviche with a ginger confit, and a fried pulpo with saffron aioli and fennel, and it all tasted as good as the descriptions sounded.
What did we manage to do while waiting for our food:
Admire the bold vintage wallpaper (which is the original left over from its former days as a Gasthaus, we’re told) while wondering how long it takes to water all the countless plants around the place. We also couldn’t stop stroking the velvet couch we were sitting on as if it was a cat, because of its incredible softness.
Recommended if you like:
hunting down those fresh and new foodie experiences, pretty wallpaper, Instagramming wherever you are, being surrounded by plants, the idea of feeling like you’re in some weird parallel universe of your grandma’s apartment who just happens to be super stylish, funky lamps, the colour green, when vintage is mixed with modern, impressing your date or friends with trendy locations, having a sip of fancy alcohol for breakfast (just a sip, of course 😉
How would we describe the place to our Oma:
Hey, Oma, you know what this place reminds us of? A mixture of your apartment, the museum of fine arts and the hip café you always walk past when you’re on your way to do your crossfit class. Your eyes are filled with beautiful scenes everywhere you look, from the winter garden under skylights in the middle of the place, to the wrought iron staircase, to the salon out the back filled with Thonet armchairs and tables.
The person sitting next to us was wearing:
Some were dressed for a business day, wile others were dressed in outfits just as trendy as their setting.
Adlerhof is perfect for…
impressing your date by pretending you know all the trendy spots of the city, meeting your friends for brunch or dinner or drinks or for whatever reason you can think up to spend some time in this beautiful place.
Good to know…
the Adlerhof is not just a café – it’s also a bar ain the evening and the beautiful restored bar you’ll see when entering is proof. Plus, it’s also a Greisslerei in which you can buy artisan food products from bread to butter to fancy cow milk (the milk is fancy, not the cows…we think)
