We want you to know that we’re giving you 100% independent sneak peeks at these places with a fiercely honest flavour. Nobody paid us to eat here. On this occasion, we thought we’d check out the vegan and veggie friendly salad bar, Salad Jungle.
Check out our no-bullshit text below (about 1.5 minutes reading time required):
Salad Jungle
What’s the menu made of: You guessed it – salads! But not just your typical pile of boring leafy greens that you often see as an excuse for a salad in Vienna. Nope! Salad Jungle serve up a variety of beautifully arranged bowls, full of flavoursome salad combos.
There is a number of standard options to choose from, but if you’re a picky eater and/or know exactly what you want, you can get creative yourself and invent your own super salad, tailor-made just for you.
No matter if you’re a vegan, a veggie or meat eater – Salad Jungle is packing varieties of healthy bowls for all. And yes meat eaters, you’re welcome here too with plenty of salad options featuring chicken, or the like. And don’t underestimate the size of the salads – their portions are huge for reasonable prices!
What did we manage to do while waiting for our food: watch our food being prepared through the open counter. Since we felt a bit creepy, staring at the staff for so long, we spent the rest of the time discussing whether the plants at this place are real, or fake.
Recommended if you like: salads (duh!), choosing and knowing the exact ingredients in your food, places that serve up big portions, the idea of feeling completely after eating a salad, the rainforest, imagining your way into a rainforest, small and cosy places with a an interior atmosphere that you’d post on Instagram, feeling healthy after eating, plants, the colour green, saving cows and eating green
How would we describe the place to our Oma: Okay, Oma, you know how you’re always preaching to us that we should eat more vegetables? The creators of this place have actually listened to their Oma and made up food joint just about that – eating your veggies. And the portions they serve up are nearly as big as yours.
The person sitting next to us was wearing: Informal and comfortable looking clothes. There’s no need to dress for the jungle.
Perfect for… a quick lunch break. A take-away option (you can even order your food online and just come pick it up!), a go-to place when you’re in need of a health kick.
Good to know… the Salad Jungle is keen on avoiding waste, which means you’ll get to buy their leftovers for super cheap at the end of the day via the app ‘Too Good To Go’!
