We Came, We Ate, We Drank… at the new colourful, outer space burger place, Space Burger

We want you to know that we’re giving you 100% independent sneak peeks at these places with a fiercely honest flavour. Nobody paid us to eat here. On this occasion, we thought we’d check out the fast food vegan eatery joint serving up burgers and hot dogs pimped for ig in psychedelic colours, Space burger.

Check out the video below, or scan your eyes over the no-bullshit text below (about 1.5 minutes reading time required):

Space Burger

What’s the menu made of: Well, with a name like Space Burger, you kinda’ can imagine what’s on offer. But their burgers aren’t your regular plain old variety, but instead, they’ve been cleverly engineered for a world in which we love taking photos of our food before we eat it. They come in a multitude of pretty colours and that’s where it gets spacy: from flashy green (Mexican Mercury) to bright pink (Californian Star) and even jet black (Big Bang BBQ). That’s as close as you’re gonna get to eating a rainbow (if that’s something you’ve always fancied doing).

You can also have an electric blue hot dog (aptly titled ‘Space Dog’), some fries (potato, sweet potato and even avocado), to which you can add a variety of sauces. There are also glitzy glazed donuts for dessert.

It’s also the only restaurant we’ve seen so far that offers a gin tonic to-go, so that’s good to know should you be one of those people that like to add a touch of Queen-like class to their fast food meal.

What did we manage to do while waiting for our food: Snapping some snazzy pics for the ‘Gram! The flashy neon signs, food as colourful as the interior and a big astronaut mural on the wall are sure to make your photos pop online.

Recommended if you like: burgers, plant-based food, colourful food, the coloured Krabby Patties from that one SpongeBob episode, photographing your food and posting it online, NASA, astronauts, taking a trip to outer space without leaving Earth, saving the planet by eating plant-based food

How would we describe the place to our Oma: Well…um, Oma, you know that time you said you smoked weed and could see rainbows everywhere? There are neon signs, the whole place is popping with colour and it’s totally not as greasy as you might imagine when you hear the words ‘fast food’ and ‘burgers’ put together. But you might have troubles understanding your burger companion when chatting with them, as there’s music blasting super loud, all day long.

The person sitting next to us was wearing: A space suit! OK, we’re straight out lying. They were wearing some simple office attire.

Perfect for… introducing your meat-loving friends to the wonders of the vegan cuisine and proving to them that just because the food is plant-based, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good. Or look good. A fun lunch option.

Good to know… Everything you see here is plant-based, even the people working there (ok, we may have made this up). And they do their own food colouring, which consists of all-natural ingredients, as well. So you’re burger may look like something nuclear that’s come out of Chernobyl, but thankfully, it’s not.
