And while a Tyrolean, a native of Salzburg, and a Viennese person may argue about who has the funniest accent, surprisingly it seems that they all have a similar taste in music. As you can see, Austria’s top 10 only has a few differences to Vienna’s top 10:
Most songs that made it into the Top Ten streamed songs list in each city were almost identical to the other cities. But here are a few interesting facts:
+ 8 out of 9 cities … Had Felix Jaehn’s remix version of the Jamaican Reggae song by Omi, “Cheerleader” as their most streamed song in March.
+ Sankt Pölten, the city of horny romantics … was the odd one out, with Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” earning top spot of most streamed song.
+ Calvin Harris’ ‘Outside’ … Made it into every city’s Top Ten list, except the big cities (aka Vienna and Salzburg).
+ Other songs that made it into top ten lists… but didn’t make the cut for Vienna’s, or Austria’s Top Ten streamed song lists, include:
