18 events you shouldn’t miss when celebrating Pride 2022 in Vienna

Vienna’s museum of modern art is offering secial guided tours through their current exhibitions with a focus on feminist/queer themes in the selected artists’ work. You can have a look into their detailed programme here. The tours are free, you only need a ticket for the museum. Just be sure to register beforehand.

You may already know a little (or perhaps a lot) about the history of our fine city. But chances are that you don’t know about its queer history. And there’s certainly a lot to be told.

During the course of ten da you’ll have the opportunity to walk around different district together with the guides from QWIEN who’ll give you fascinating insights on the matter.

Having sex is awesome! But you know what’s even more awesome? Having safe sex! The only thing that sucks though (besides maybe you your partner or the other way round) is that getting regularly tested for STDs can get quite expensive. Therefore you might be happy to hear that you can get actually get tested for HIV on various dates and locations during Vienna Pride. Completely for free!

Various libraries around town are going to host some great readings and fun events throughout Pride Month. Talented people from the community will showcase their literary work, great talks and discussions will take place and most importantly, love and equality will be celebrated!

The awesome folks from EatSlayLove and Queens Brunch are kicking off the Vienna Pride Week in an especially fabulous way. They are gonna host another edition of their much-loved Klub Q-Wir at the Volkstheater on Sunday. With an international lineup of queer DJs, drag artists and vogue dancers it’s gonna be one hell of a show!

It’s Pride Month, which means there will be lots of rainbows and lots of parties and events to look forward to! One of them will be happening at the Vienna City Beach Club on the Donauinsel where a Pride beach party will be happening. Don’t hold back and come as you are.

When your hear the word bingo, what’s your first association? Old people? Retirement homes? Artificial hips? Forget all that, ’cause this is gonna be a bingo night that actually slaps! Lovely hosts Bubblegum Lecter and Pandora Nox are gonna spice it up with some sass. Plus, the winner gets all their drinks and meals paid for. So be sure to dig in properly that it pays off!

When an event involves DJ tunes, cocktails AND a rooftop bar, do we even have to say anything else to make you wanna go there? Exactly. That’s why you should most definitely swing your cute booty over to the 25hours hotel and get that party started!

This special edition of the Albertina’s popular event series is going to turn the cultural institution into a pride-themed club location. Serving the proper mood (aka banging tunes) will be none other than drag icon Tamara Mascara herself. If you wanna soak up some culture besides all the party fun, you can also visit the museum complety for free from 6pm to 8pm.

The Pride Run Vienna will take place on Friday, June 10th and is welcoming all kinds of runners – from beginners to seasoned athletes. It’s ‘just’ 5km! You can sign up for it (there’ll be single, couple and group competitions), or you can always join in on the sidelines watching those beautifully trained bodies passing by and cheer them on. While the the fight for equality is in the centre of attention this month, we still have other issues going on too unfortunately. Like this tiny little thing called climate crisis for example. As a collective sign against injustice, Vienna Pride and Fridays for Future are joining forces for a big protest march. Starting from the Mexikoplatz it will go along the Hauptallee and everybody’s more than welcome to join in. In the hope that our future will be a fair one for everybody.

Everyone knows that the yearly pride parade is one hot business. Not just because of the many gorgeous people taking part but also because of the obvious fact that it’s happening in the middle of June. To prepare yourself you can join the fun at Felixx bar the night before, where DJane Ginger Red is bringing the heat. So you’ll reach the right operating temperature in no time.

Thousands of people will join in on this wonderful and colourful parade to express their solidarity with the LGBTIQ+ communities in Austria and around the world. While the celebratory atmosphere makes the rainbow parade look like a huge street party, everyone is reminded that this is also a political demonstration demanding a non-discriminating society. So expect to see strong messages of love, respect and solidarity demanded on banners, t-shirts, and dance moves on the street. Nothing compares to the feeling of being part of this magnificent parade.

The Pride parade will see thousands upon thousands of people marching along the Ring in the bright June sun. No wonder that things are about to get heated up there. And what’s much needed after a day like that? Right, a proper cooldown. At Felixx you’ll get just that; either in their garden or inside the bar (both air conditioned of course). For some reason we have a feeling that it’s going to be a hot night regardless.

Saturday the 11th will see PiNKED, the gang behind some very cool LGBTQ+ parties, take to the sauna. Not the naked sauna, the Prater one…you know, the club where you go and get somebody naked after. Across the three floors (indoor, outdoor & pool), they hope to satisfy all dancing itches with Pop, Electro and chill sounds.

Everyone is welcome and anything goes at this wild party. There will be live performances and a solid night of celebrating until 6am at Camera Club. Dress up as whatever want and enjoy a night of inclusiveness and debauchery.

This party not only offers a safer space but the possibilty to dress up however you want. Whether you wanna put on a sporty rave outfit, glitter dress, dessous, fetish clothing or simply turn up butt nakedf – everything goes. You really can go all out here!
